2024 Grand Ullambana – Yulan Pujas

The Yulan Festival is an important cultural and religious event amongst the Chinese communities, focusing mainly on the significance of filial piety, respect for ancestors, and compassion towards all beings, including those who have passed away. And as such, from the Buddhist perspective, we also engage in auspicious activities in order to dedicate merits to the dearly departed whether they were once our immediate parents and family members, our karmic debtors or the wandering spirits of the six realms as all these sentient beings could have been our mothers.

Hence, YPNV is organising a series of meritorious events and grand pujas both in Namdroling Monastery, India and at our centre in Sri Petaling. We welcome all to participate in two of these programmes by registering via the Google form below. 

You only need to submit the names once as they will be sent to Namdroling Monastery in India and to the resident lamas in Malaysia. However, we do encourage you to personally attend the prayer sessions and to offer a lamp at the YPNV centre on the 17th and 18th of August. 

Kindly register and send in all names latest by 13th August 2024.
